PolyViscose - "ripping" the fabric to size
I've got what was listed as 12oz Poly-Viscose tartan in Thomson Gray and I'm doing the headwork now, preparing for the upcoming start of my first self-made formal kilt and I have a question about what I've seen on YouTube videos about ripping the fabric to size rather than cutting it. All of the videos and references I've seen that refer to this practice have apparently been for wool fabric but I have 12oz PV. Can PV be ripped the same way or should I use scissors instead?

So I finally got the nerve to try to rip my polyviscose tartan. First I tested it an inch from the end and ripped it across the width. It worked well so I was comfortable enough ripping from end to end.
For anyone else who had the same question I had, Yes, it will rip and it works better than cutting it.
