Re hight of waist band on traditional 8yard heavy Kilt.

I am intending to have a new 8yard heavy tank made.Please can some one clarify the position of the waist band so the Kilt
keeps my Kdneys warm and does not slip at the back with the weight if the cloth.
I would assume a belt at the true waist and belt loops would achieve this .
There seems to have been a change in design over the years since my thirty five year old Chisholm was made in Invernss.
Am I correct in saying new traditional kilts when custom made, fit the wearer like a glove, and the lower and upper straps are on the tightest hole. Is the Kilt then a perfect fit due to shape on the hip/ waist curve or is it the straps which support the kilt,irelevant to the shape of the cloth.
I normally wear the waist band two inches above the top of the belt at waist height.
I usually wear a drovers soft sporran which hangs on a loop from the belt.
One of the reasons for traditionally wearing the kilt in this manner is that my Kilt was off the peg thirty five years ago.
Does the military kilt waist band reach to the sternum and is the waist band over the rib cage and not any support for the wearer.
I would assume I could have a civvy outdoor working kilt mad in this manner.
I have seen other postings but they do not clarify my considered requirements.
I can wear any Kilt, but if I am going to have one made in Cornwall to support local industry I must make it look smart and feel comfortable.
I am a full time Kilt wearer and out of the house and outdoors twelve hours a day. I wear a collar and tie and an Argyll.
Just a country form of dress.
Folks say "You look smart, are you far from home ?" I usually reply. " I live twenty miles up the road and had to get a visa to travel this far."

Roderick, ideally in my mind, the kilt should fit best on the middle hole. That way, if I either gain or lose weight (as I often do) I'm still okay for a while.
