Regimental advice needed
I recently acquired a couple of old sporrans off ebay and I'm in the process of restoring them as they have been lying in an attic for some decades gathering mould.
Included with the sporrans was an old army belt. Very heavy, thick leather with a stags head buckle with Cuidich N Righ embossed on it. I know this to be a MacKenzie and Seaforth Highlander motto but can anyone tell me anything more about it such as what regiment/time period etc. Also it must be too big to be a kilt belt so would it be worn on the outside of a tunic? The only pictures I have been able to find of such a belt show the buckle in brass.

One of the sporrans is quite interesting too. Can't figure out what kind of fur it is (it has the look of highland cattle) I am thinking red fox? It has an interesting fastening too, in that the chain link (which is quite substantial) goes through the back and attaches to the flap on the inside.
So my question is, would this have been a military sporran? If not, when and wear would it have been made?

Any advice gratefully received.
