Sporran question....
somewhere, somehow, i have seen a sporran that just clips, via lobster claw clips or some other fashion, to belt loops or a loop that fits around a belt that has some sort of d-ring on it. for the life of me i can't remember where it was that i saw it. also, i am having no luck finding it online anywhere. it also seems that the particular sporran in question was made of a sort of canvas or duck material. i want one of these things, but can't find it! help!

Are you thinking of the Amerikilt one?

I, too, remember such a discussion but can't seem to find it. One possible problem, as I recall, was the weight of the sporran tending to pull down on the front of the belt. And I can't remember if anyone actually purchased such a device.

Matt Newsome sells these sporan straps at the Scottish Tartans Museum.
They are at the very bottom of the page and come in brown and black.

I suspect you're thinking of the Amerikilt sporran.

I think your thinking of two different things.
The fabric sporrans are a product of both Amerikilt and 21st Century Kilts. Both make a fabric detachable sporran/pocket that matches the kilt.
The leather loops that hang from the belt are produced by Buzz Kidder. They are made to go with their kilt belt. Both are from a VERY thick and substantial leather.
Hamish's gallery shows both types when worn. You can also see both on the respective websites.

It's the Buzz Kidder sporran hangers that you can get from the STM or other places online. O'Neille
