Sporran question
I'll be going to a wedding kilted. The affair isn't very formal, or black tie, so I'll be just wearing a tweed sportscoat modified to a kilt cut. My question is which type of sporran do I wear. My guess is that I wear a semi-dress sporran. That is, one with either a bit of fur, or embossed leather with tassels, not a formal, all fur. Am I correct? Advice please.

You could wear an all-leather sporran if you want; a tweed sportcoat isn't semi-formal, so there's no need for your sporran to be.

My only sporran is a Rob Roy. Will that be appropriate?

?Unless you're in the wedding party it would be up to you, your relationship with the respective bride, groom, and families, and what you can afford to do.

Turpin nailed it. If your not in the wedding party, and your Rob Roy sporran is clean and in good repair, I don't see any reason why you can't where it.

Take a look at this website: http://www.kinlochanderson-kilts.com...och-dj-bt.html
You can see the guy in the tweed jacket is wearing a plain leather sporran. It looks very good, and since you're wearing a tweed jacket, nothing beyond a simple leather sporran is required.
