Am I right in assuming that the Economy USMC Leatherneck tartan is the only kilt at Stillwater Kilts that is box-pleated to the stripe, as in, that none of the other economy kilts are? And I was curious what anyone thought of that kilt in particular -- I'm eyeing it. I have an obsession with the boxpleats to the stripe. ^_^
I don't think so Roan. As I read this, the economy is knife pleated to the stripe - a limited edition wool heavyweight will be available in a box pleat. From Jerry's site: "We offer this tartan in our acrylic Economy Kilt (pleated to the stripe) and in our Standard Kilt line (pleated to the sett). We will also be offering it in our wool Heavyweight line (pleated to the sett), and we will also be making a limited run of Heavyweight Box-Pleat Wool kilts"
Yes, as Phil said, the economy is a knife pleat to the stripe. I have one and wear it often! But I am looking to get either a Standard or wool as well!

Lol, my eyes are playing tricks on me! The USMC Leatherneck on the economy page really looked like it had small box pleats, and I remembered hearing that tartan would be box-pleated at some time ... I caught myself wishing the Standard kilts were pleated to the stripe ... because I've gotten really used to that level of quality and the price is impossible to beat.
