    stillwater kilt

g'day all. I am still relatively new to kilting with my first two kilts being pv from buyakilt. I bought them as "training" kilts and also as everyday knockarounds since I am not very graceful in movement: I ruin expensive suits within 2 wearings. I just bought a wool Irish Saffron from Stillwater Kilts and noticed it was a little snug. I decided to keep it anyway since I plan on wearing only for more dressy occasions. The question I have is, are Stillwater Kilts sized on the small size? If I buy an economy or standard acrylic would I need to size up or will they "break in" to my regular size(36)?

Stillwater according to their website, and as a multiple SWK owner I can confirm that their measurements are to the tightest of the holes in the straps. Did you measure yourself? And did you measure at the kilt waist? Both your suppliers have their measuring instructions on the website.
I would recommend getting a set of extender straps for the Stillwater, they do sell Them, it will make the kilt much more comfortable.

BTW, welcome to kilt wearing and to XMarks.

Thought I wore a 36 but after getting my SWK casual I realized it to be a little snug and in reality a 38 fits best. I was mistakenly going by my jeans waist and wasnt till I researched further and had a hand made kilt made I wear a 38 better. Make sure to measure at your navel as that is your kilt waist. Most vendor web sites give you instructions on measuring both waist and length. Welcome to kilt wearing and XMTS from Mid Missouri.
