Utilikilts and kilt hose?
When wearing a tartan kilt I will wear it with kilt hose under the knee, rolled down or simply wear short socks, all depending of function, temperature or weather.
Not being secure if kilt hose "goes" together with Utilikilts I have very seldom used other than ordinary short socks and consequently hardly worn these kilts at low temperatures. Am I too "timid" here or what do you think of kilt hose with UKs or other modern styles kilts?

In the warm summer weather I have normally just worn sandals with the Utilikilts. When hiking boots or shoes are more appropriate I have worn kilt hose 'scrunched'. Early in the year, during the snow, wore boots and thicker hose - sea-boot stockings are inexpensive and warm. I have not worn short socks, but cannot see anything wrong with them with light shoes, but never with sandals!

In my opinion UK's looks best with boots and kilt hoses / wellie socks scrunched down.

Agreed, that's how I typically wear them - that or with sandals, depending on weather.

I'd say it depends on your footwear. Tall boots, scrunched down.. Short boots, pull your hose up...

I got a UK survival model during the recent sale. It is a sort of camel/sand colour. I have often worn it in casual settings, with a polo shirt or button down shirt with sleeves rolled up. I see nothing wrong with wearing proper hose and shoes for a business casual look. Socks pulled up of course.

Personally, I like the look of trad hose/flashes with modern kilts. I wear my black Amerikilt with black hose, white shirt and dress MacLeod flashes/tie fairly often.

Utilikilt themselves sells a more casual line of kilt hose. Good for scrunching.
Otherwise, I think it depends on what else you're wearing.
Here's a picture of me from a few years back with a UK and hose:

In retrospect, I'd not wear the pin or the skean. But they were new at the time and I was...well...excited to show them off....

Thank you guys. I have been convinced, I guess. Yesterday I wore my black UK with black kilt hose and wind breaker and it was all right and looks quite acceptable, I think and by all means perfect for the weather.
As you can imagine from the picture it was quite a windy day and only 5 degrees C.
