I'm kind of confused too. Do you mean to ask if the Visigoths wore kilts? Because they did not.

The Visigoths did not wear Kilts.
I think the post you got it from was simply the author playing on the word Goth as his son is a Goth/Rocker.
The Visigoths were a Germanic people and would have worn trousers and tunics.
They'd look similar to the picture below.

However, just because the Visigoths never wore Kilts shouldn't stop you wearing one!

Senor Mendez,
I have to agree, although there'd be a Celtic connection from central old Europe, the Visigoths did not wear kilts, as far as I can tell.
Even so, you still go out and choose one. In particular, there are many grand-looking ones that aren't associated with any clan, but look beautiful nonetheless. Having said that, choose a clan one if you like it!

I found this on a website http://gdb.skynetblog.be/archive-week/2003-44
I can't read it because it's in a different language but they had this picture.

Considering the Visigoths were around from about the 4th to the 8th centuries, they were a good 800 years (at least) before the development of the kilt.
Now, there were kilt-LIKE garments around for all of history, so some of those might have been worn somewhere along the way, but the picture that Arlen shows would most likely be their common dress, well battle dress anyway.

Ayin McFye, that is quite an interesting find there! The kilted man depicted is wearing his great kilt folded in half to look like a phillabeg.
Also, the video in the top left corner has a song that will be stuck in my head for a few days.

I will say that Germanic tribes tended to wear pants, as has been noted above, but at various times, various tribes allied themselves with various other people. Perhaps some Visigoths wore belted tunics or something that resembles a kilt; any clothing experts care to enlighten us?
