Wedding rental selection?
Hi. I've got a wedding coming up in 5 months. I want the Groomsmen and I to go with the Black Watch formal arrangement. I have found 4 places on the net that offer Kilt rentals and I was wondering if anyone here could relate any experience you have had with any one of these places (good or bad).
I live in Northern Ohio and seeing how I don't have a kilt rental shop near by, I'm hoping this process will go as smoothly as possible.
Kilt Rental .com (located in Colorado, USA)
Celtic Corner Store (located in Cincinnati, Ohio)
Kilt Rental USA (located in Scottsdale, Arizona)
The Scotland Yard Store Ltd (located in Shelbyville Kentucky)
Thanks all for your help.

Try the Celtic Croft.
I've heard good things about their rentals.

I suggest you contact the good folk at the Scottish Tartans Museum, and support a great institution.

I've rented from the Tartan Museum on a couple of occasions and everything went off without a hitch. I'd rate them A+ to do business with.

And we do Black Watch. :-)
Here's a direct link to the part of our gift shop site which deals with the rentals.

Kathie Akins handles most of our rental details, so the best thing to do is call up and speak with her, but if she is not available any of us will be glad to help you out.

I have dealt with the Celtic Corner store in the past for a rental; though I only rented a jacket not a full kilt outfit. The employees are pleasant to deal with there. I will warn you though that if you have any advice the rental portion is new to the company, and the whole celtic store is basically on offshoot of interest generated by a highland dance class run by the people that own the building it is located in. If you know what exactly what you want they are good to deal with, but they are by no means a source of information. Good news, Cincinnati magazine rated them the best Celtic gift shop in the city; bad news, they had no competition.

If I had it to do over again, I definitely would have went with the Scottish Tartans Museum! Havent had too good of luck with the Celtic Croft.
Somebody ought to.

I am renting from kiltrentalusa.com this January for my wedding, but that is influenced heavily by the fact I live 5 miles from the shop.
I have heard they are sometimes hard to get ahold of, and they close around 4 on weekdays and arent open weekends. If you don't have a local place I would recommend the Tartan Museum.

I have heard nothing but poor reports about Kilt Rental USA (located in Scottsdale, Arizona), although I have no first-hand reports.
I would suggest using one of the advertisers on this site, as they seem to take good care of their customers.
