    What the......

Last night my wife and I went out for supper to a nice restaurant (No jeans or sweatpants). I decided to depart slightly from the usual as shown here...

    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/a...hp?pic_id=1802

Have I committed kilt blasphemy here?? I've not seen this sort of argyl and sweater combination before but thought it looked acceptable. I've certainly been wrong before and wanted to get some opinions.

    Thanx all,
    blu

(BTW I hiked the new kilt (tartan 2024) up a bit before departing)

Looks ok to me. The key here, I think, is everything is coordinated.

Looks good to me, Blu. The jacket gives it a dressy look while the sweater keeps it unpretentious.

Looks really good Blu. That style of sweater has been pretty well accepted, at least here, as semi-formal dress for years and since my understanding is that the argyl is semi-formal at best...presto! An great match.

That's pretty much the way I saw it too. However, where highland attire is concerned, what looks ok is not necessarily correct. ie. tartan ties, white kilt hose, pin location, brown vs. black etc. etc.. Before breaking rules , I like to know what they are first.
