What tartan would suit this Jacket ?
Hi all,
I'd like some advice. I love the look of the jacket below so much so it's crazy. At the moment I have a BW kilt and a Prince Charles Edward Stuart Modern kilt. I'm looking for a good reason to justify buying a USAKilt Semi Trad ;). LOL
What Tartans would go well with this jacket ? Would any of the two I already own work well ?

If you like it, Hiram, it will work with every tartan.
Personally, I don't like it. 'Stripes and checks', not sure that they go together. But in the end, it is what you are going to feel good in, not what I feel good in.
Regards
Chas

The brown looks a little too mauve for it to look good with a red tartan like your Prince Charles Edward Stewart (who knows in real life; you'll have to buy it to know for sure), but it would look great with your Black Watch.

I am sorry, but to my mind there is not a tartan in this universe, that will go with that jacket.

This one might be better even great with the BW.

I'm a pin strip 3 piece suit kind of guy which is why I like the first coat, but now that I see it with a checkered pattern as you said Chas, you may be right.
SlackerDrummer can you past the BW with the second coat for me ?
Another thing this is for a friends wedding, it's formal enough as day wear goes I hope. I have a black PC and a black Argyle but wanted something out of the ordinary.

A much better choice in general. I'd change the buttons on it, but it's very nice.

Sorry Brother I am no fashion expert by a long chalk but I dont think that the stripes will go with any tartan. However it may go with a suitably matched plain tweed kilt?
I think your second combo would look quite good with something like an Isle of Skye or other "autumnal" or predominantly dark coloured tartans.

SlackerDrummer I fear you may have just started something, now I was just thinking of how a Cameron of Erracht Ancient would look against a loden crag Braemar jacket .........................
