Where to rent (or buy).
My daughter is to be married at the end of May. I want to attend kilted, but do not own a full kit. If I had everything my way, I would rent the kilt, belt, sporan, Jacket, or Jacket and waistcoat. I have hose, shirt, tie, and shoes.
If I REALLY had it my way, I would buy the whole kit. Wallace, Wallace Hunting, or Wallace Blue, Modern or weathered, wool, 13oz. (It will be worn to events outdoors in the heat of Texas, and the cold wet of Oregon.) If I can find such a thing, without breaking the bank. Doesnt need to be new, I am a man of modest "substance" Size 46 Jacket, waist 42, 24in length.
So, I put it to you gentlemen and ladies, as I raise my kilting from casual and day wear to full / semi formal. Where do I look? Worst case I rent one, in some lovely tartan, and return it. Best case I find one I really want and can afford.
Tall order I know, but I cant think of a deeper well of knowledge and good will to plumb for this. Thank you all for your time and attention. I can be contacted via PM or directly at rhvessels@yahoo.com.
