Military Kilts and Trews
I was poking around looking up a tartan for another thread and ran across this website selling Regimental kilts and Trews. Some of them are unworn and still have the basting stitches in them.

If you're already familiar with this site, forgive my ignorance. It's new to me.

Hmmm... Those Gordon trews seem kind of interesting.
From what I understand, it is possible or all right to wear trews with a kilt jacket. I might be wrong about that though.
Don't know anything about the kilts.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Yeah, Trews are high-waisted like kilts, so they look right with the same jackets as kilts.

Might be a way to have multiple uses for a kilt jacket, and still have tartan. Those wern't too costly...

I've e-mailed them about the R. Scot trews. I'll let you know how they respond.

Assuming we are talking about the real thing,we are I think, and not just tartan trousers, then an Agyll is just the ticket. Tweed for day and for evenings(am I really saying this!?) the black silver buttoned Argyll(with or without the 3 buttoned waist coat) looks very smart. I have seen the PC worn with trews ,but somehow, to my eyes, it does not look quite right.

They are also "cut" tighter. It will be interesting to see if these Gordon trews that are advertised in the original post are of the type I describe.

Yes, thank you BH, the top pictures show exactly the style of waist and the "fish tail" back that I meant. I confess that I have not ever seen them(trews) cut so loosely. Perhaps its the Cornish way? I think it is reasonable to assume that the trews that are for sale will be cut like your bottom pictures and will have the high waist with the fish tail back and probably no pockets.
