At the risk of stirring the pot........................ GO FOR IT! If you are wearing a formal outfit (P/C) I think it would look great. I have even been known to wear one with my argyle. Jock Scot and M of R, the paramedics are on their way! Bottom line is you only have to please yourself and the one you're with.

I agree with Big Mikey. (Is that safe? ) The fly plaid gives you that extra splash, and since you're dressing up in your finest for the Bard, I'd say pile on the tartan. Tartan Claus, right?
