    New bespoke waistcoat

This is an item I've wanted for a long time. I actually commissioned it from a friend of mine who sews but she couldn't do it due to some medical issues. Luckily, another friend of mine - my lovely NYE date actually - was home for the holidays and when I told her the story, she mentioned she sewed and suggested we take it on together. It turned out to be a bigger project than anticipated when both of our sewing machines decided to be on the fritz but we carried on and she and her mom sewed all of this marvelous waistcoat by hand! We finished it Sunday night and last night I wore it out at Tartan Tuesday for the first time.

Very nice job Nathan. I'm about to embark on a similar project to make a waistcoat to wear with my trews.

I hope you send praises to your friend and her mother from us here on X Marks. A fine job indeed.

Love the shawl collar. It looks great, and perfect matching on the collar and welt pockets!

I was very picky about that and given how stretchy the fabric is on the bias, it's no easy feat. I think they nailed it and I'm glad you noticed!
