I just grabbed this waistcoat and jacket off eBay for a low low price. What do the auld traditionalist chaps think? I know off the bat my shoes need a shine. What do you think about the black leather shoes and the dark chocolate brown sporran and sporran strap? Let me have it! And here is the close up of the tweed

Dude, that looks really spiffy! But I hate to point out that sporran isn't chocolate brown.
I think it looks pretty good, the sporran and shoes being different colours do not bother me at all. If I were to suggest anything it would be to smile a bit. Well done
Very Sharp! Dark color shoes - dark color sporran, they look fine together.

Dang! A compliment from you Jamie makes me feel proud. Mods you now close this thread! (just kidding ) Originally Posted by Nick the DSM Atleast it's not a rubber chicken... ...where did you get the sporran... I want one... Thanks! I made it. http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...t-w-i-p-64980/
I wear black shoes with brown sporran leather regularly. Brown shoes with black leather sporran, not so much I think. I am sure someone like Panache or McMurdo could carry it off with aplomb in the right circumstances, but it doesn't feel right to me.
