Just yesterday I got a catalogue in the post from an ordinary menswear seller.
What struck me was that around half the men's jackets (blazers, sports coats, etc) have ticket pockets.
Which got me looking through vintage photos looking for such with Highland Dress.
I don't see very many, here are a few:
This appears to be a welted ticket pocket
One sees all sorts of interesting jacket designs in the Victorian period, here's a tweed jacket with four large patch pocket and a flapped ticket pocket:
This interesting jacket has an upper flapped pocket on either side, but no "ticket pocket" per se:
