Social Groups
The conversations in the social groups seem to be a little disconnected from themselves. Will these be reattached, or are we starting with clean slates there?
Regards,
Rex.

Hey Rex.
I'm not sure what the deal is. But, we'll look into the hows, whats, and whys of it all.

While we are on the subject, I sure wish there was a way to get notices when there is a new post in a social group, in the same manner in which we subscribe to threads.
Best regards,
Jake

Jake,
Take a gander at the new "Discussion Tools" pull down box in the Social Group Threads
I see that there is a "Subscribe" option now.
I will try it out for the Order of the Dandelion and see if it works
Cheers
Jamie

Rex, it looks like the "Discussions" work a little like a thread. I started a new one over in the Bear's Den on this topic. It looks like you click on the title of the discussion to open it. The main issue I have is that the first post is always shown rather than the latest post. I think it would be easier if the order were reversed with the latest post being displayed first. I'll have to look at it to see if there is a display order option.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I like that we can have separate threads within each group. I do wish there were a way to get to the most recent posts we haven't read, similar to how we can do that here on the regular board's threads.

Ted, I was looking around in one of the groups I started and next to the discussion tools drop down menu is another box that has no text but is a drop down menu as well. There was a setting for "inverting the selection" (it is also on the page that lists the group's discussions as well). I haven't clicked it yet since I'm not sure what it does or if that would be preferable to what's already there (I'd personally prefer a "go to new posts" feature like we have on the board). I just looked in a group I did not create (only a member) and I don't have those options.
However, if it sounds like this feature does do the "latest first" and most of the members in my groups would like it, I would be more than happy to change it if it will help them.

I hope this link works http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/group.php
To find it from your own page... look at the blue bar near the top of the forum that has all the links like "New Posts" "Search" and then you'll see one next to "Log Out" called "Quick Links."
Click on "Quick Links" and look down the list until you see "Social Groups." That will take you to the new "homepage" for social groups. It will show groups you've created, groups you're a member of, random groups, and new groups.
Find the box that says "New Groups." It will be the box on the right side. At the bottom of this box it will say "View all."
Click that to see all the groups -- the new set up allows us to have group icons, and not all of the groups are showing up because not everyone has included an icon yet.
Hope this helps and that I understood what you were asking (where social groups are?). Best wishes!
edited to add: Panache beat me to it, but just in case anyone else has not seen the social groups section yet, those are directions to get there).
