Strange Error in viewing threads

Occasionally when I am trying to look at the second or third or fourth pages on a thread, I hit the appropriate button and I am taken to the correct page--but then almost immediately am taken back to the starting page of the thread. So I can read no further unless I look at each message individually. I've tried this both at work (IE browser) and home (firefox) and I have the same problem. But it's not every time.
Anyway, figured I ought to report it now.

This has happened to me once or twice in IE, but I just thought I must have hit the wrong button by mistake....

I've had this happen often recently.

It happens when I'm in the Hybrid viewing mode, but if I open a thread in the linear mode the buttons work properly.

I have had it happen a few times but in the Linear Mode.

I always view in hybrid mode as it is default. So this is where the error occurred with me.
