1st day out in buckled shoes
Today was my 1st day out in my new Fugawee 1758 buckled shoes, they are awesome and although a bit tricky to fit the buckles through the latchets at first, they do stretch a little after wearing them. I added some modern innersoles to give a left and a right feel to them as they are straight lasted and I might have purchased them half a size too big , but with some double heel liners added they feel fine. Next job in to give them a good coat of black shoe polish and then some leather waterproof cream as it often rains a lot here and I do not want them damaged. Another thing I did which is not very trad is I have some light colored vibram rubber soles glued to the leather base this too is to protect them from the rain. If you are looking for trad buckled shoes Fugawee offers a wide selection including a Scottish thistle buckle.

Thanks for that photo. I couldn't wrap my head around the whole ensemble (as described previously) until now. Good look for the street scene.
