1st Sporran
Well, it figures.
I bought a Buzz Kidder sporran last. And it's the frst thing that got here.
I now have a kilt pin and a day sporran.
The wait is getting to me.....I have to restrain the urge to run out and buy an off the hanger kilt!

Which model sporran, Rob Roy, Country, ...
Another good thing to ease your jonesing would be a leather sporran strap. They're not too pricey of an accessory but make a huge difference in the look of your kilt when you finally get to wear it all.
Keep your eye out for a nice narrow belt or look around at R-kilts and Stillwater.

I purchased the Inverness in black, I thought it looked pretty nice.
I also just got my Montrose jacket delivered via FedEx from J Higgins.
So now I only need my KILT, my Kilt belt, buckle and sporran strap to be delivered then I'll buy some kilt hose and I'm off!

Hey Shotdir, I just noticed you're in So Cal; where abouts?
That makes at least four XMarks members around here. If we get a couple more members around here we might be able to get a regular kilt night going! (If we're relatively close, So Cal's a big region)

Hello Iolaus,
I'm in the Riverslime, er, make that the Riverside area of SO Cal....not very far away at all.
Well I now have a leather day sporran and a very nice Montrose jacket. I don't think I could get away with wearing only those to a kilt night.....
Everything else is supposed to get here by the 14th (or so I was promised) .
After that, sounds like a good idea to me.

On the other hand, there may be some in just a kilt, sporran, t-shirt and boots, and at least one or more Utilikilts. Hell, if the kilt's dirty, just wear a t-shirt with a kilted Scot on the front, we'll get the idea.
I'm sure by now you've seen that there's a difference between "formal" kilted style, and dressing casually in a kilt. Don't let "The Rules" stop you from having fun; even the Kilted Guru dresses down occasionally!
PS, Riverslime huh? I grew up in Garbage Gulch, aka Garden Grove.

Sounds familiar, I grew up in Seal Beach.
But, yeah, a kilt night sounds good, when I have a Kilt.
Right now, I meant, I'd probably draw some looks with
ONLY a Jacket, boots, and sporran on!
Dop me a line after the begining of December and we can put on a So Cal Kilt night!

on that note, I had some guys in class tell me that one day I need to come in with just "that pocket thing" on... I asked if they meant with blue-jeans, or something to that effect. And they responded "I don't care if you wear anything under it I just think that'd be cool!"
I didn't exactly know how to take that

I guess they think differently in Ky....at least from Southern California.
You might try that in San Fran, but not out here.
Whew!
