I've been thinking about sporrans for a while.

I'm not sure if words here will convey how I feel, but I have been thinking of how incredibly practical, useful and convenient the whole concept of the sporran is!.

When I enter a store to pay for something I love the feeling of reaching down, unclipping the snap on the sporran, and reaching my hand in to retrieve my money purse.
The sporran in in front of me, right where i need my possessions to be!

I love the feeling of the sporran there all the time, it's weight keeps the kilt in place and lets me know that my most valuable possessions are near at hand (literally).

When I walk or dance I have the option of sliding the sporran to the right. So versatile!!

Am I sounding like my cheese has slid off the cracker yet?

Now, compare with trousers and the ridiculous invention of pockets!!

Trouser pockets lack imagination...they wear out and develope holes that loose coins, unlike the sturdy and tough nature of the leather sporran!!
I don't care if you stick them on a kilt, they still fail miserably!!

A sporran is vital at work or at play.

The sporran is an ancient concept, it returns us to less complicated times.

In addition to all the above, the sporran can be plain for daywear, decorative for evenings, the sporran allows us to express how we feel, who we are and what we want to do.

All hail the sporran! let us raise our glass together for this Chief of all kilt accessories!
