Americana Tartan Shirts
Good evening all,
Off and on, I've seen discussion about LL Bean's Americana Tartan shirt collection. These shirts comprise of tartans for U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps and while it's touted as "Army", it's actually the West Point Tartan.
My husband and I just returned from Freeport, Maine and saw that they are carrying this line again (most likely will be seen in the winter/Christmas catalog) but LL Bean has resized the pattern to where it's smaller. They still look sharp but may have felt the patterns were too big for the shirts; I don't know.
Anyway, as I've seen this discussed, I thought I'd report back to let you know they are available in their store. I would suggest calling LL Bean's customer service line if they are not posted on their website to see if what is carried in the Freeport store is available to purchase with a phone call.
Semper Paratus!

I just looked at the LL Bean web site. These shirts are sale for around $25. They seem to have limited sizes.

What you are looking at are the shirts they sold this past year. Those that I saw in Freeport are not on the website yet or in their catalogs. They've been redesigned with a smaller pattern than the traditional one. As I know this redesign has not been posted on their site or catalogs yet, I was not sure if, by calling LL Bean and asking about the newest ones at the store, whether they would be available. They do exist and based on the past two years, figure they will hit the winter/Christmas catalog and the website around the same time....but if you were to walk into their main store, you would find them for sale in all sizes.
