Another source for knit bonnets
I was at a reenactment this past weekend, and ran into an old friend Dick Bray, of Mohawk, NY. He used to knit a fantastic 18th C. type bonnet, and the good news is - he still does!
I've been wearing one of 'em for nigh on ten years (pic below; mine has a red band) and can vouch for their quality. The best felting I've seen: hold it up to the sun and zero light comes through! I wore mine in pouring rain over the weekend, and it sheds water to an amazing degree.
Anyways, anyone interested in a fine knit bonnet, contact me via PM and I'll give you Mr. Bray's e-mail address.
