Can Anyone Recommend A Good Silversmith
I need a new cap badge (my old one was stolen) and wondered if any one could point me towards a good silversmith!

This firm does gold & silver items and I can vouch for their reliability. http://www.centaurdesign.co.uk/contact
He tends to make most stuff through the winter months. I don't think he has clan badges but could probably be persuaded to make one - he made a one-off set of silver buttons for a jacket of mine a couple of years back. Trouble is he is here and you are there but he does a fair bit of mail order. This is the jacket (don't know if it will enlarge) and the gold-plated belt buckle is one of his too.

I think Ian has recently retired, at least that 's the word I get from Leith. I'll check out the other craftsmen and let you know how I get on.
Thanks again,
Scott

Hello Scott, you may well be right, but Ian completed a cap badge for me last September(2007) and gave me every indication that he was going to be around for the foreseeble future. All the best with your search.

MacMillan of Rathdown,
Robin (a member of this forum from the Netherlands) currently has a few vintage sterling silver cap badges (and kilt pins) listed on his Kilt Goodies website. He may have something that will interest you.
