casual kilt belts
What do you wear as a casual/informal/daywear kilt belt and why? I'd like to hear some opinions and pictures would be most welcome!
The reason I'm asking is because I'm looking into getting a belt to wear with my traditional kilts (both tartan and solid) in casual and/or informal situations. I'd like the belt to be able to work with boots, scrunched down hose, and a tee shirt but also be dressed up with a tweed jacket, shirt, tie, and brogues. I already have a shiny waistplate-type for more formal situations.
I'd prefer black leather and have narrowed it down to a couple options, though I'm open to other suggestions. While DIY is possible, I'm trying to keep this simple.
Either a 2", double prong belt like this:

Or an antique finish buckle that could go on my existing black kilt belt:
- Justitia et fortitudo invincibilia sunt
- An t'arm breac dearg

I wear a 2 inch black belt I bought from Old Navy for 13.00 dollars. Works great for my pants and kilts!

I usually wear brown accoutraments for casual wear. I have two belts, one being the 2.5" one from Oconee with the plain brass buckle. The other being an old Sam Browne with brass fittings. These can both be obtained in black with chromed fittings
I also have two black 2" casual belts with pewter/dull silver metal buckles, one round, one oval. I found the buckles in an Op shop for a couple of dollars each and got the belts made for $10-15 at a local market
all the best in your endeavours

I'm not a big guy, and while I have a 2" belt, I usually wear a 1 1/2 inch black belt with a celtic cross buckle I got from Rocky. That seems to be wide enough to go pretty well with anything.

I have a black belt that measures just over 1.5" that I found at Target for under $20. I wear it with my casual kilt from USA Kilts mostly. Because of the spacing of the belt loops I actually added some velcro to the belt to keep the extra leather (the bit that goes past the buckle when I cinch things up) from flopping around foolishly. I'm in the market for a similar belt in brown and would love recommendations or reviews (ie of the 1.5" belt Rocky offers).

I made myself a 2-1/4" double-buckle belt for casual wear. Brown, because that's a good casual color. I think it goes well with boots as well as with brown brogues.
Bad picture, but you get the point...

I have four belts from Moonshine Leather Dot Com. Check out his "specialty belts", they are gorgeous!
I also have two belts from Blackbeards landing (he makes the Pirate belt for Utilikilts). I have a black and brown one.
