    Chainmail flashes?

So I was poking around Sock Dreams' website thinking about picking up some more cotton hose. I stumbled on this in their sock garter section:

    D-Ring Garters

They seemed to me to be a really interesting idea for flashes. These, of course, are a bit short to be particularly effective unless you don't fold down your tops, but they lend to the idea of adding more links for a longer chain, or even so far as using strips of chainmail! Some of those coloured (or even plain) chainmail bracelets they sell at Renaissance Faires would be brilliant. Or make you're own if you're so inclined.

Definitely a thought for the more "progressive" kilties out there

Would not the chain mail catch your Hose those things are often riveted together ting by ring or done in loops that will catch. You may end up with tatty hose if you go that route.

Might I suggest instead using repurposed metal mesh watchbands, if you're looking for metallic flashes?

    Regards,

    There's a website for everything--scary, I know.
    http://simplybea.com/chainmaille.html

I guess my rules for wearing chainmaille flashings would be:

    1) Not too long

    2) NEVER run
