    I don't see why not,you would have to loose the leather strap off the end.

    I think it would make an excellent sgian. Not to argue the point but I don't see that removing the leather leash would be necessary to me. Maybe shorten it a little, but it would add a little character to the sgian sticking out of the sock.

    I'm with cav on that one. I think it looks neat with the leather lanyard attached. Though I'd definitely consider shortening it.

    Looking closer at the leather they are using for the lanyard, I still feel it would look good with a little something tied through the eylet but you might consider something like a round braided leather bolo cord with a horsehair tassel on the end or just a strand of some soft 1/8" brown leather lacing.

    I bought one just like it on eBay recently and amputated the leather thong. It is a sgian dubh for sure.
