Don't patronize the kilt store!!
I bought an Argyll jacket and waistcoat from them. They held up sending out the order waiting for the waistcoat to be delivered. Well, three weeks later they sent them but a waistcoat that was 8 sizes too small! Someone took a size 44 and wrote size 52 on the other side of the size tag. I sent them pictures of this. Months have gone by, and I was promised but no one has contacted me from their "management" about sending me out another vest. No savings through X-Marks, as I have to find another vest somewhere else, and had to pay duties on the abomination to boot. Absolutely disgusting...

That's horrible! I hope that doesn't happen to me since I'm waiting for an order from them which includes a coat and vest!
Have you tried calling them directly? I know that they have an 800 number for North American customers.

Part of the problem may be...a UK size 44 is a Euro size 52.
Still not good (to say the least...) they didn't solve it properly

I am absolutely amazed to read this, Binx. I've had several dealings with KiltStore, both before and since their connection with X Marks, and have had nothing but exemplary service from them. You should definitely use the toll-free number and call them - but don't forget the time difference!

Speaking of time difference,
Do you ever sleep Hamish?
It's almost 10 PM (East Coast USA). I believe that is, what, 3 AM There?
Anyone else have discount issues with this vendor?
(I haven't tried)

I'm sorry you've had that experience, Binx. I have ordered a number of things from them and had little problem with them. I did order a jacket and waistcoat from them. Like you, the waistcoat I received was the wrong size. However, I emailed them and they corrected the problem quickly. I mailed the wrong waistcoat back to them and received the correct size back. And I know they shipped out the correct waistcoat before they received the returned one.
In fact, I've ordered enough from them that I've probably got enough points saved to get something free now. Hmmm, maybe I need to go shopping.
That being said, I've come to the point that I will now get most of stuff from stateside dealers, to avoid the hassle of customs fees.

Points!!! - are these the folks I was just ranting about who charged so much to ship! and had such poor service...every time I emailed got a different respondent...they plead they had new people...wound up "upgrading" by buying a shirt to get shipping reduced. A very unhappy experience for me. I missed that 800 number too. Not a hint of customer service or concern in my dealings with them. Not a hint.
The whole sad story is on the Kiltstore forum. Very first one I think.

Nope, cause the jacket fit fine.
