Found a Harris tweed jacket
At the local Bible Society Thrift Store.
Hmmm, it fits nicely, is the typical white/black herringbone with faint red and green traces which will coordinate with the Crawford Modern (but a mauve lining ) and only $5.00. Cool!
Went to pay for it
There was a sign at the front saying certain merchandise was marked down based on the colour of the price tag, but I didn't read it closely.
"That will be 50 cents."
"What? You mean 50% off of $5.00 because it has a white tag?"
"No, all white tagged clothing is 50 cents. 57 cents with tax."
"OKaaaay...."
Paid the lady and ran....
[I know, where are the Pics? I will post one when it's back from the cleaners.)

I can't remember the last time I got a soda for fifty cents. That's a heck of a deal.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

I notice you haven't posted where you are. Are you trying to protect the supply in your area?

More of an initial paranoia...
That same day I found another Harris tweed in the Langley Value Village for $12 but gave it a miss as it was a 44L and too long on me.
The one I bought was a 44S but the sleeve length is acceptable and with the shorter body length may be wearable without cutting down, the lower front corners of the jacket already have a sweeping curve to them.
Should get it back from the cleaners tomorrow.

What color/pattern was that 44L? That's my size, and I'm trying to build up my collection of Harris tweeds.

I believe the jacket is the standard white/black herringbone /\/\/\/\ "Grey"
I need to see if it's still there.

Call off the dogs. I dropped by the store and re-checked. It seems I was trying on so many jackets on Saturday my memory was confused. There was a 44L herringbone but it wasn't a Harris. There is a Harris but it's a black/grey/white houndstooth
And it doesn't have a size marked but I can't get the edges to meet at the front, plus the sleeves are short, so it's more likely a 38S or 40S.
