    Girlie sporran... need help duplicating!

Okay, so my friend Amanda on livejournal showed me this:

(and modeled it for me so nicely, too)

I had to run right out to Target and get it. It's perfect for women to wear with a kilt- not a sporran, really, but closer to a belt pouch. Still, I tried it on with an Amerikilt, my Black Watch kilt, and my long hostess skirt in Maple leaf, and it looks great! Holds the essentials* but still looks like a woman's accessory.

Now my only problem is I can only get it in brown... any of our fine sporran makers up for trying something similar in black? Basically it's a belt with two O rings and a pouch in the middle sewn onto a larger half-circle of leather.

BTW- any other women reading this- they're not on the Target website but they're xhilaration belts, if you care to look. Mine was about $18, American.

(*ID, credit card, money, keys and a cell phone, I don't like carrying them in a purse since it's impractical to dance with or keep an eye on while I'm dancing/chasing little ones/generally raising Cain)

It looks like a simple welted pouch - if I had the time, I could reproduce it pretty quick.

If you find no takers on making one, see if you can find a local bootmaker or shoe guy to do it. Around here (Arizona), bootmakers are fairly common and sometimes need the extra work.

Ha! I get everything at Target. Tazhay, we call it. But then, it's easy to mix up names sometimes.

Buy another brown one and use black leather dye on it.

For a gent in tartan, that would be scary, on the hip of shapely woman in short tartan, that would be a different story altogether....

After you go to Target, you stop off at Chez Ronald for a Double MacSporran...

    Shay,

It figures that with only a few ladies here at X Marks I would screw up the names of one of them. My apologies

Hector Russell do side sporrans for the Hillwalker-whilst Scotweb also did a traditional side sporran--ideal for day to day wear..

But I'm not sure if they do them in black.
