    Glengarries and Balmorals

As a vendor, I feel I should know this, but I don't. Is there a company in the UK that is known for its top grade quality Glengarries and balmorals?

Robert Mackie is quite famous and very good. I have a couple balmorals from this company. The website is below.

I will second the recommendation of Mackie. Quality at a reasonable pricepoint, although by no means cheap.

It always makes me nervous when prices aren't given with the products....

They will deal with an individual, but they generally deal with vendors. Vendors will set their own prices. No need to be nervous.

I'll add to the recommendations for Robert Mackie. As Arnot stated they don't market to the public, but will happily sell to individuals if you contact them. A quick email will sort out pricing. They will also custom make a hat to your specifications (color, torrie color, type of bow etc), for a small fee.

I bought a balmoral from them a couple of years ago. They where a pleasure to deal with and shipped a custom hat the next day. I thought the price, including shipping, was very reasonable. I've seen poor quality hats selling for more here in the States.

I wonder if a Mackie Balmoral without a tourie is cheaper than one with a tourie.
