Handknit kilt hose from Janette Murray

I purchased these hose specifically for an event but had my eye on them for at least a year, it does take a while to decide to spend this much on a pair of socks after all. The fit is perfect and they certainly will keep me warm as the temperature drops. The colour is Gritstone and I think they work wonderfully with the Wildcat tartan, with the understanding that some may find them matchy. I think these are great however they do take some time to get used to as they are itchy. One thing I really do like is that on the back of the label you have the name of the knitter and where they were produced. I really think that while these may not be for the beginner kiltie they are perfect for someone who has been wearing the kilt for a while and would like to step up their hose a notch. I purchased them from William Glen and Son`s in Toronto on Avenue road. Here are the photos.

    Here they are being worn

Glen... I like them.... And what is wrong with matchy - nothing imho. I wear compression hose all of the time and they make great Hose "liners" beneath expensive or hard to wash hose. Thin exec. length nylon socks would do the same and both reduce the need for washing and eliminate the itchiness

I was looking on ebay for sock liners actually. Still there is nothing like hand knit hose.
