Cool Have you heard of Nifty Notions from Australia for Sporrans?

    http://www.niftynotions.com.au/store/

They have full-size, medium-sized and belt-sized Sporrans. Look cool, I just wondered if anyone has one. Great customer service!

the price seems good. Some of them are just a little costume-y for my taste. Thanks for posting.

Are they made from kangaroo skin? That way they'd come with a built-in sporran.

I have one oftheir sporrans and a matching belt pouch, in the black leather body with grained tan flap with oval celtic pattern disc on it. If you go to their webpage and click on "large sporrans" mine is the third one down from the top, and I have the matching belt pouch.

Likes: lightweight, beautiful finish to the leather and nice detail work, color consistency between the two different pieces; Love the closure devices which are easy and secure besides being attractive.

Dislikes: The sporrans function smaller than they measure, meaning they don't hold as much as you might expect and also look smaller on your apron than a typical sporran---I think this is because they are mostly formed domed leather rather than gusseted with separate sides and front piece: although nice and soft the leather is quite lightweight and I am not sure how long they would last with regular or heavy usage; although not important for a sporran, for a belt bag the strap holder on the back only allows belts of 2 inches width or smaller, which limits their usage on the wider standard kilt belts

They skirt the line between casual and semi dressy with some of the finishes looking really nice.

I will try to post a picture or two of mine in action if I can find one. I have only had mine for a couple months and not yet written a review of them yet. I bought mine off ebay from them. Shipping was prompt.

The Tardis Sporran, constructed by Gallifreyan craftsmen, would incorporate the unique technology of this device.

    Yes .... I'm a nerd.

I cannot see posted pictures from my work computer due to firewall issues so I cannot verify this right now but will check it tonite. I believe I was wearing both the sporran and belt pouch for the pictures in this previous thread:

    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/r...x.html?t=48696

I am in the Blue shirt, Balmoral, and Ancient Douglas kilt second from left. The sporran should be visible, although I know it is not a close up it should give you a general idea of how big the sporrans are relative to your apron (remember too that I am 6'5" tall and 275 pounds). Will post better pics later.

    I have just ordered one:

I am really getting into the earth tones. The exchange rate is really good, but there is a slight niggle in that you can't find out the shipping cost till after you have committed to buy. But even if the shipping is the same as the purchase price a total of £28 is great value for money.

    Regards

    Chas
