I found this sporran-like bit on Etsy

I was prowling about on etsy looking for yet another vintage gillette safety razor or old straight razor, I figured I would search for kilts and such and stumbled upon this interesting leather bag..

The dimensions are 7x8 and when opened up fully it would appear it could hold a good bunch of stuff, a quick email to him revealed that he has on prior request replaced the belt loop with two D-rings to use it as a sporran.

The look is not traditional, but as a daywear piece for a short summer hike in the woods or heading about the town running errands. At his price point I'm thinking of getting one with D-rings just to try out.

Looks very similar to a Rob Roy style sporran, what with the drawstring and front flap shape. With a D-ring conversion, or just a longer strap to hang from the belt, it would make a perfectly workable sporran. $40 is not bad for that.

That's what I was thinking when I first saw them, going to pull the trigger on one next payday methinks.

Nice looking bag. If you do get one, be sure to share a picture of it in use. You know how we love action shots.
