Interested in Comments Re: Sporran
I'm interested in comments regarding this sporran. It has tassles made of duck feathers, that as a duck hunter, kind of caught my eye.

Woah! IMO there is just TOO much going on there.
Two different colours of fur, two different metal colours on the cantle, both stamping AND a metal detail on the central targe... to top it all off a riot of materials, grain leather, metal, two furs and the duck feathers.
It's like someone had a good idea, then another one, then another, THEN another and another, and they just didn't know where to draw the line.
That said, if you love it, don't let my opinion stop you.

It's a bit much for my understated taste. I've said before, and it applies here, that I like stuff that I wouldn't wear. I appreciate the duck feathers as a cool factor for a duck hunter too.

I would so wear that! I love ducks, especially mallards.
As far as the question AZ, outside of the white banding, I really like it. I love the cantle, and the feathers. The white is just way too much though, even for my over-the-top tastes. I already know it is well out of my price range, but if I could pick it up, I would replace the white with matching black, or perhaps a border of body feathers to tie in the tassels.
Been kicking the idea around of making a feathered sporran with my fly tying materials, but that's at the bottom of a very long list of projects on my schedule.

That sporran is definitely eye-catching... perhaps not in a good way.
There is a bit too much going on for my tastes. If the cantle were all one metal and there was no thistle badge, I think it would work better. The feather tassels are the most interesting feature to me and the rest of the detailing detracts from them.

Artificer put it well. It needs to have about half as many(or fewer) materials and features in its construction. IMHO you would be better off getting a nicer sporran and making some replacement tassels with feathers.
Or just PM Artificer and commission him to construct a nice one for ya'.
