Kilt pin opinions...
Ok, I am going to a wedding tomorrow. I am going to be wearing a SWK Nightstalker tartan, charcoal hose, a grey sweater, black sporran (either chain, or hangers..not sure yet), black low-quarters. My question is.. as I have not run across a kilt pin that strikes me yet, should I wear a simple nickel kilt-pin, or none at all?
Here is a link to the pin.... http://www.dritz.com/brands/showcase...ITEM_NUM=62-65

I would say go ahead and wear the simple style until you find one that is more you, have you looked at the kiltgoodies site? If not here is the link

Ha! Two rabble, three opinions.
My vote would be no pin. Those safety pin style ones just don't do it for me, even if they are traditional in some regiments.
Best regards,
Jake

Rex's opinion(s):
No one will notice if you are not wearing a pin.
The Dritz pin is OK - I wore one like it once on a UK, and a couple of people thought it looked cool (in addition to giving the UK a little more, um, authority, let's say).
If you have time before the wedding, and there is such a thing in your neck of the woods, try popping into a consignment boutique, second-hand store, or antique shop and go straight for the jewelry cases. In the men's sections, you may find some military or heraldic pins that you could use. In the ladies' sections, you never know what will turn up that could work. It takes some rummaging through the stuff to find the occasional prize.
Have fun,
Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

Have to agree with Monkey@arms, the safety pin style doesn't work for me. There are plenty of other options, and of course no pin is always acceptable.
Best of luck in the hunt, that's another part of the fun.

Go with the blanket pin if you need or want to have a pin. It's a fine look, I think it'd go well with the sweater outfit.
I have several, and keep one on my SWK economy and standard kilts. Long term, keep your eye out for something spiffy to go on the Nightstalker. It could work with any number of things. Lots o' ideas over here: Show us your favorite kilt pins.

If you're on the fence, then I saw don't wear one. Less effort. ((YAWN))

At this late a time, I would opt for without pin. I own two kilts that have never had a pin as it would clash with the tartan. I also do not wear a pin in the games. I could hurt myself.

Well, so far most of you say nay.... we'll see. I am going to try to make it to some of the thrift stores between my kids hockey games and the wedding. I'll let you know how it goes.
