Kilted gifts from the non kilted

My mother wants to get my rogue something nice to wear with his kilt. I was thinking a casual wear basic sporan. I love my rogue but the boy needs a proper sporan not put it in my purse.

Is there a site you would recomend that I can just send her to that she could easily pick something and rarely go wrong?

Also my rogue LOVES T-shirts. I've seen a few good one's on here. Are there any places you would recomend? I'm still building my "kilted" links so I'm not sure what is good and what is not.

Look at any of our sponsers sites, there is a multitude of sporrans to choose from.
A real casual sporran, from StillWater Kilts is the "Nightstalker" which is nylon, with zippered compartments, a lot of room.. I have one of these and use a solid leather sporran belt with it. Or get something from our resident sporran makers, who can build one to his specifications. You really cannot go wrong there. Thorfin, has a good product, very adaptable for a multitude of uses.. Matt at Scottish Tartan Museum, has some nice ones available. There are more makers on the site, please forgive me if I omitted names... But you cannot go wrong with any of them.

I just purchased a Buzz Kidder Rob Roy sporran from the Scottish Tartans Museum and am very happy with it. When finances pick up a bit, I'll be looking into a Thorfinn and a Freelander. From what I've seen here on X Marks, both are excellent choices.

I recentlyy purchased a very nice & economical brown day-wear kilt from
Stillwater Kilts for only $19.95. Just check their site for sale or reduced items.
Also go a very nice brown kilt belt w/brass buckle for $23. And none of us can

I have two very cheap sporrans that I love.

The first is my black SWK "Country" style day sporran, which he doesn't seem to have in stock at the moment. A little leather conditioner goes a long way.

My newest one is a What Price Glory brown day sporran, which can be found here Link. 25$ and includes a nice leather belt as well.

Words of caution about the What Price Glory sporran, it's rather small and the belt is for trim guys -- I did a detailed review with pics a while back, will see if I can dig it out and post link here. Price is right if it fits your needs, but best to know in advance what you are getting.

    Here's the review -- link

Agreed. You can order a larger belt if necessary. It is quite small though. Cell phone, keys - that's about it.

Edit: I fit my smokes and a lighter in it as well the other day, but it was a pain to close with all that in there.

A number of our sponsors offer the "Buzz Kidder" line of sporrans

They have 5-8 models and all are roomy and well made of soft leather.

Price wise they all run about $60-$65

For sporrans they are the best value out there to be had.

    Cheers

May I suggest a gift card/certificate from a supplier so your rogue can select his own? It is very thoughtful of you mother to be sure. Selecting his own sporran may be a matter of personal taste.
