    Kmart's Kilted Korner

I have this great idea. Steal it if you wish, I don't care.

Perhaps you have noticed: WalMart and KMart have a modest selection of fly fishing stuff. Flies, lines, rods, and reels, etc. No need for you to hoof it over to your local fly shop.

One could do the same with with kilts, and especially accessories.

    PetSmart. KiltSmart. Real big-box potential.

    What do you think?

Lidl sells some cheap kilts and accessories around St. Andrews and Burns night, and this appears to be quite popular.

There's no need to bring racist terms onto the forum

Sorry but I don't see the humour. Maybe there's a different attitude to racism in America, but the word you used is seen as a very derogatory term here in Scotland.
I'm not going to tell you what you can and can't say among your own friends and family, but I don't think this site should be a place where such terms are used.

Really, Georgia neighbor. That word is highly inflammatory in some places, kind of like some other words that are sometimes used in our neck of the woods.

Tyger, how many of your buckles would this new mega-mart have to order to get them at wholesale price? 10,000?

    Blackrose,
It's not a word that is used very often in our area of the US. In fact, the first time I ever heard it was in a link to a video that was posted here.

    Re: Kmart's Kilted Korner

The "kilts at Walmart" thing has been kicked around here in the past. One of the most popular opinions that came out of past discussions was that any kilts or accessories that you'd get at a place like Walmart would have to be a colossal disappointment so we're all better off with the marketplace staying the way it is. Face it, even if you go with the "low bidder" here, you have much more of an assurance that you're going to get a decent product and dependable service.

Actually, the way it is isn't such a bad deal...things could only be this good in the age of the internet and shipping being carried on the scale that internet sales has necessitated. If I had decided to get a kilt fifteen years ago, my choices would have been limited and I would have never had the options that I have now. Lucky us that it is...the way it is and that we have the forum to point us to good sources and act as a sort of self-regulating mechanism to see to it that we're satisfied with the things we purchase.
