    Large Calfs - Sock Dreams

I know there have been some posts on large calf kilt hose.

This vendor has been mentioned as an option but I am not sure which style, or styles, others have found to be successful.

Some have used the over the knee socks. I found that with my 20" calves, even those weren't enough. I have had a good bit of luck with the thigh high socks. They're actually a bit too long, but that just allows for more foldover. They work great for casual kilt hose.

I don't have any experience with this company, but I have very large calves, and piper hose work for me.

I just opened a package with two pair of their knee high socks. I wouldn't think they would work for a chap with large calves. I have bird legs (15" calves) and they worked fine, but they don't seem to have that much stretch. The knit is rather open and light weight. They should make good summer weight hose.
