    Leather boots

I have a pair of boots similar to these:

If I remove the fringe, would they work with a great kilt? In other words, would they be more accurate for old Scotland, since they were made for fur trapper era attire? I watched Rob Roy for the first time yesterday, and while I know there are probably historic inaccuracies in the movie, he wore boots sort of like the ones I have, and they looked good. Thanks!

I think I know the kind of boots you are talking about. Perhaps it would work.
If I had them, I would find it hard to remove the fringe because it looks neat, but I'm not trying to dress period or anything.
    Good luck.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but if you were to use a 1" wide strip of leather and wrap it around the moc like in this pic. as well as cut off the fringe they should work fine.

    Hello norfair86.

My son has boots like that in black that lace on the side. He has removed the fringe to wear with a kilt and it works just fine.
