    Lothlórien leaf

So, based on these two threads:

    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...-broach-96719/

    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...lt-pins-64703/

...I figured I'd try a Lothlórien leaf pin (from the Lord of the Rings movies) as a kilt pin. It's a little bigger and heavier than I expected, but I think it'll work. I usually keep a kilt pin with each kilt I have, and this one (Isle of Skye) just had a generic axe pin before, so it's nice to have something a little more unique. Kilt's hanging a little funny in the pic because of the odd angle I had to contort to to get a decent picture.

I bought that same pin from the WETA workshop in New Zealand for my wife about 16-17 years ago (numbered, etc.). It'ts very attractive and well made. I never thought of using it as a kilt pin, though. Brilliant!

BTW, heavy is good. Light and flimsy doesn't do the job.
Those ancient U Nialls from Donegal were a randy bunch.

Nice. Mine is an officially licensed one from The Noble Collection. It's silver-plated bronze instead of the sterling silver ones. Bit less expensive, but it seems to be quite well-made.
