Mackie balmoral frae Dunadd Trading Co.
I arrived home from work yesterday to find a package from Argyll on the kitchen counter -- the new Mackie bonnet had arrived!
I wasn't able to take any photos until this morning, as our wee bairns kept daddy busy last night. So here are 3 photos for now. I went with the ever-popular fawn with fawn and lovat green dicing. A friend of mine in St. Louis (who has since Went West) had a bonnet like this, and I always admired it.

Pay no attention to my ugly mug in this next picture. It's the bonnet you should be looking at!

And before anyone says anything, this is the duty uniform of the 1st Hawaiian Highland Fusiliers.
Overall, I am very impressed with the craftsmanship of a Mackie bonnet. It's just a wee bit big (partially due to my peeled scalp), so I'll have to do a bit of work with some cold water to shape it, but it is everything I expected.
And I can't say enough for Redshank's customer service. Once again, Chris has delivered a quality product at a reasonable price and in a reasonable time. The fact that the bonnet came from where one of my great-great-grandparents did (Argyll) makes it even better!
You can't go wrong with a Mackie or Dunadd Trading Company!
Yours aye,
T.

Well done Todd!
Your new Balmoral appears to be strangely familiar-LOL! It looks quite smart on you, and once you get a badge on there, then perhaps a wee bit of your clan's (Clan Cumming/Comyn) plant badge (Cumin, or wheat) tucked behind, you'll be ready to go mate! I agree with you, one simply cannot go wrong with Dunadd Trading Company (Chris, aka Redshanks) and Robert Mackie, such a wonderful combination of quality Scottish goods, with excellent Scottish hospitality!

Slainte mhath,
Aye, Kyle -- I'm waiting to slap the Clan Cumming badge on the bonnet until I can do a little work with it. I have some dried wheat (our plant badge is actually the Cumin plant, but alas, I do not have access to any at present) that I will place behind the badge and then take a picture.
