    name that belt...

on the Stillwater site...in the nylon sporran movie....it looks like a pistol belt.
Where do I get a black web belt of that width (preferably cotton as opposed to nylon) that I can attach my own kilt buckle to?

It's called a web belt. Here's one link. A Google search on militery or army surplus will turn up dozens more. The surplus sites also have small belts or straps that will look good with Stillwaters nylon sporran.(sporran straps)

A standard kilt buckle fits perfectly, but you do need the buckle receiver also; thats the part on the other end of the belt that the buckle hooks onto. I had a batch of buckles plated with zinc phosphate to give them the flat black finish.

Personally, I would avoid a US style pistol belt. Too many eyelets on there, and I figure they could some serious damage much like a chain sporran belt.

A Canadian or Brit style, in my opinion, would be much safer. No eyelets at all.

Edited to add that you would need an older style Can or Brit belt, as newer do have eyelets. Strange, but I recall the 82 pattern Canuck belts without eyelets.

Good point Moose. The Military Police belts don't have eyelets and you can get the parade belts without eyelets but then you have to verify they will work with the buckle you have.

When I was researching this I also looked for plain black cotton webbing on ebay and from other suppliers. You could go this route if you want it bad enough.

There are lots of folks on ebay selling just the webbing, even seat-belt webbing.

Me, I made up 2 belts from webbing I had lying around from various projects. One is OD with a black Fastex buckle, the other is dark blue with same buckle.

Couple of ebay links. I've used both.
    in Canada
    in US
webbing, fasteners, slides, swing snaps. Great stuff if you prefer the web look over a leather belt.

I'd just like to mention that the site cavscout posted- paradestore, is where I order my white gloves from. I've never had any trouble with my orders from them. I didn't mention the site in my other post due to a senior moment.

it's the eyelets i liked. And i'm not wearing anything traditional or terribly expensive, so I don't have to worry about ruining my kilt.
I just thought the modern web belt looked cool with the old kilt buckle.
It was a neat combination of styles.
