As you are asking, it all depends on what you are trying to achieve I suppose, but to me, you look like you have lost the rest your band and those flashes/garter ties are rather ostentatious when put with the rest of your attire. Sorry.

Thanks Jörg...
I won't have the occasion to come. I am invited for a wedding.
One of the reasons I bought the hose. The bride wishes me to appear kilted...

Thanks Jock for your always appreciated statement but may I contradict?!
Diced hose are an accepted part of civillian evening kilt wear for long time although they are of military origin. So a pipe band isn't necessarily to be around when wearing them.
Following several sources dress kilt hose are a required and essential part of evening wear and also - we had this before - of day dress (equivalent to morning coat and striped trousers) even if you wear an Argyll instead of a PC or doublet.
I have to confess that I don't find the garter ties ideal but they seem more appropriate with a dress hose to me then usual flashes exerpt of silk...They are too thick under the turndown.
But it was a first tryon to see how things work together...
AND: It is very often said that keeping Highland Dress too simple is not traditional!!!
Through kilt hire companies that try to work as economic as possible we are used to see a lot of boring stuff which makes kilt attire quite uniformal and uninteresting.
Of course I don't have your kiltwearing experiences but I think even if things run out of fashion it is still appropriate do so.
And as we know there is no proper way of discussing personal taste...

I'd have gone for colours closer to those in the tartan myself. Now they'd look good with my Cunningham tartan kilt!

That is great except your first two pictures are not evening attire, and for the last picture which is bottom end formal evening attire then diced hose are really too much for the event.

If we consider:
your garter ties will be less ostentatious than the kilt.
The garter ties (and the hose) might not be what you would wear in the Highlands of Scotland, but for the wedding you'll be attending they are quite ok I think.

You are quite right Carlo, if you----anyone--- wants to wear the attire in question to a wedding ,then that is entirely their choice. However, if they wish to be attired correctly then they may be best to review their attire.
