New Inexpensive source for Piper's Hose -- Tartanweb

Just doing some looking around today and came across what seems like a heck of a deal for Piper's Hose in 10 different colors (if you consider wyite a color) at Tartanweb in their piper's section:

    http://www.tartanweb.com/shop/pipe-b...y/piper-socks/

13.95gbp for the predominantly acryllic white, 14.95gbp for the other 9 colors (navy, lovat green, lovat blue, forest green, arran, stone, charcoal, grey, and black)in 70%wool (with the current exchange rates equates to about $20.50US for white and $21.50US for the other colors). Don't forget to figure in shipping too. This is NOT a special sale--seems like their regular price, although I do not remember finding them at this price here before.

Cheapest I have been able to find them elsewhere is from $25-30US per pair. Might be time for a run on them if you need several colors. These are far superior to routine WBrewin and other lesser expensive plain hose. These are good for folks with long legs and fairly large calves, although anyone with freakish calves in the 20 inch range may want to consider custom made hose.
If I was not already flush with virtually all the colors and several other pairs of colored, tartan, or diced hose I would seriously consider adding to my stable at this price.

    Enjoy.

Thanks for the source. I'll save it to my favorites...

I tend to get them from the College of Piping, as they're a bit cheaper (£12.72 + £4.00 shipping = $25.88 vs. TartanWeb's $27.48), plus I like the idea of helping to support the CoP. http://www.college-of-piping.co.uk/a...Kilt_Hose.html

I've had good experiences with TartanWeb in the past, but had not realized they sold piper hose.

Jeff, they had some pure wool piper's hose for sale for £15, down from £30 in selected colours and sizes. They're great hose, very thick and comfortable and I'd certainly recommend them!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

    Pennsylvania USA - http://www.thefrugalcorner.com/kilthose.htm $18.00

NOTE: These are the "regular" thickness [thin to me] styled hose. Not the heavy/hand-knitted weight hose.

and what I use when I play paintball:
