    New waistcoat

A nicely tailored waistcoat to complement my trusty Aiken and Niven lovat green tweed jacket.

Looks great! I’ve always liked the ‘odd vest’ look.

    Custom job?

Yes. Looked at two or three of the usual bespoke Highlandwear tailors, but then chanced upon an Etsy trader. Great communication and the tailoring is outstanding - properly lined satin back for example. far superior to stuff I’ve had from more well known outfitters and at £110 for a fully bespoke garment a lot less expensive as well.

Verrrrrrry nice indeed! Always love the 'complimentary' waistcoat look (cilted or in Saxon dress). Love the high shawl collar too - shawls never go out of fashion. Willing to share the supplier (perhaps in a private message if the rules do not permit)?

An Etsy trader - Waistcoats Unlimited. The lady is Claire Robertson (no relation) and her work is top notch, in my opinion. She hadn’t sewn a kilt waistcoat before, so along with my measurements, I sent a picture of what I was after. She offers a truly bespoke service, so if, for example you wanted a tweed back and fully collared lapels, that wouldn’t be a problem.. She uses Marton Mills who offer a great range of tweeds. Their website has pictures of all they offer and they’ll send you free sample cloth.
