    Pictures of PinMart Pins

    Got these at www.pinmart.com

I like them added to my kilt pins sometimes.

BEST thing they offer is a locking back pin to replace the clutch pins so you don't have to worry about the back coming off and losing the pin. I ordered a bunch to add to the pins I already have.

This is a Midshipman's anchor pin...hard to find...I were one once in the 60s. On the Navy tartan. Ignore the large thing below - its just covering up another kilt pin that would break the rules if I showed it.

As long as were military now here's the Army stuff on Army tartan.

Blue Star flag is for my nephew in the Army. Wings are for my late father's service in the Army Air Corps as a fighter pilot in North Africa. 1st Armored is for the guys who rescued his shot down butt at Kassarine Pass before the Afrika Korps got to him.

    And the Marines.

USMC logo circle is from Pinmart. Staff Sgt insignia is from somewhere else - in memory of my late little brother who did 10 years and was a Drill Instructor.

    Here is some State stuff.

Pennsylvania pin on the Pennsylvania tartan.

Texas pin on the Texas Bluebonnett tartan.

    Arizona pin on Arizona tartan.

And finally, American and Dutch flag pin on the Dutch Friendship tartan.

Know not everyone likes these type pins. But I do and Pinmart has a wide variety to choose from. And again, don't forget those secure pin thingies...locking pin backs. They're $5.95 US for a bag of 12 with the tiny allen wrench included.

I think it is a good idea to swap kilt pins around. Give you a chance to match the pin to the mood of the occasion - frivolous all the way to sombre. During the Olympics and Paralympics, I wore their logos as kilt pins.

    Ignoring the large thing

Ignoring that "large thing" reminds me of the many other times that I tried to ignore the Canadian MP badge. Didn't always end well as I recall..

The pin locks are truly amazing - use them on a leather vest with a variety of biking related pins. They don't let loose and they don't have abrasive edges. A real bonus for kilts.
