Review of Joe Gondek sgian dubh

Hello everyone! My husband and I recently purchased a sgian dubh from Joe here at the forum, and we have a review on my website with plenty of photos:

    http://www.cfgriffith.com/2012/04/01/sgian-dubh-review/

Since Christopher wrote the review, I thought I would take this moment to post my thoughts... since Christopher doesn't have a lot of time to visit the forum, I was the one communicating for Christopher and Joe. I have to add that Joe is perfect to work with! He quickly answered any questions I had, and listened to our needs and fulfilled those wishes.

We had purchased a Rob Roy style sporran from Joe in 2010, and we'd seen photos of the other items he's made. We knew we just had to make the one sgian dubh Christopher bought (he doesn't see himself purchasing a lot of kilts or accessories) be one from Joe Gondek. Thanks again, Joe!

(oh! and mods -- if this should be in the accessories section or another one, I apologize. *blushes* I had too many windows open at once, and missed it while looking for the section I needed to post this in.)

I have a Joe Gondek Rob Roy sporran, purchased in January, 2011. It's been my everyday sporran ever since. My other three sporrans have had a lot of rest.

Thanks for checking it out, everyone! Yes, the handle is very comfortable. Christopher definitely wanted a sgian he could use if he needed to. We're very happy with our purchase (also the sporran). We love to support artisans -- helpful to them, and fun and memorable for us!

    Haḷ,

What a fine sgian dubh! The hilt and the handle are exquisite and it would appear to function well based on the review. A great functional tool to add to your garb. Congratulations on the acquisition.
